Update – October 2023

I am writing to update you on the current position on the new nursery building.

The contractor had financial difficulties for some time, which meant the build programme was unpredictable and progress stopped for long periods of time, making the handover date difficult to ascertain.

We have now been advised that the contractors’ business has gone into administration and all work on the nursery complex has ceased.

We further understand that the entire Wilton Park site is up for sale by the administrators.

As the building of the new nursery was part of a legal agreement with Bucks council, any new purchaser will have an obligation to complete the new nursery building, we understand that there is a limit on how many new homes can be occupied on the site until this has been achieved.

We will update you when we have any further information, this is obviously very disappointing as we were looking forward to occupying the new nursery building.

In the meantime, I am pleased to inform you we are starting a programme of essential improvements to the current nursery while we are waiting for our new nursery.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our management team.

Kind regards,

Jan Harris
Founder & Managing Director
First Place Nurseries

Update – December 2022

As we close for the Christmas break, Richard Colwill, commented on the new build progress…

“Despite the recent weather the construction of the new Beaconsfield First Place Nursery remains well on track. Since the first brick was laid at the beginning of October, the structure is now complete. Roof works are well underway and windows are being installed currently. In the new year, the underfloor heating system will be installed and we will commence with the fit-out of the interior, whilst works to the façade continue.”

August 2022

We are excited that the construction of the new First Place Nursery at Wilton Park in Beaconsfield is well under way and we marked the occasion with a ground- breaking event in August 2022. The children enjoyed planting a Silver Birch tree and burying a time capsule which they filled with toys, drawings and photographs.

The state-of-the-art new nursery building is a timber-clad pavilion with capacity for 74 children aged from six months to up to five years. The new nursery will provide a safe and stimulating environment for children and is set next to the new parkland being created at the heart of Wilton Park is easily accessible to residents and the wider community. There will be twenty-five parking spaces, as well as cycle parking provision.

The new nursery building is just one of the family-friendly facilities that leading developer Inland Homes is creating along with 350 homes that will make Wilton Park a thriving new community. The nursery forms part of the Wilton Park community hub, which also includes a new café and community centre, as well as two hectares of beautiful parkland for everyone to enjoy.

Jan Harris, Managing Director at First Place Nurseries, commented:

“First Place Nurseries has an established nursery setting already in this location, but the redevelopment of Wilton Park allows us to move to outstanding, purpose-built premises where we will be able to offer children an even better start. The leafy surroundings, large outdoor space and well-equipped building provide an environment where children will thrive. We would like to hear from any parents interested in registering their child for a place at the new nursery.”

Part of the appeal of Wilton Park is the strong emphasis on green space, with the new two-hectare parkland that the nursery overlooks also now under way. It will include two children’s play areas, a trim trail, new footpaths and cycleways, and enhanced biodiversity with new tree planting as well as the creation of meadows and wetland areas.

Now taking registrations.
