Peppa Pig and George visited First Place Radlett to welcome children on their first day at Centurion House.

 

Author Nick Halliday visited our nursery on Tuesday 15th March and read some of his books to the children. The children listened very well to him and enjoyed the details of the stories. The children used the puppets to help tell the story of the Lonely Tree. They learnt all about the life cycle of a tree and how it feels to have a new baby arrive at home through the stories.

Red Nose Day – Friday 18th March
Red Noses now on sale in the office. Buy yours before we run out!
Children can also wear red on the day and contribute £1 to Comic Relief
We will be celebrating Comic Relief day on Friday 18th March to raise awareness with our nursery children on tackling poverty and to support this worthy charity.
There will also be lots of fun activities to support this worthy charity.

 

World Book Day

As part of our World Book Day celebrations Usborne Books held a colouring competition during their visit to nursery. The lucky winners were Pluto –Jamie, Mars-Neerav, Saturn-Emma and Jupiter–Nedum who all received books as there prizes.

 

Displays for the new site ‘Centurion House’ are now available for parents and visitors to view in our main hall. We are on schedule to open our doors at the new building on Tuesday 26th April 2011….We will keep you regularly updated on any news or information regarding the move…

 

Children’s Author visit – Tuesday 8th March (Postponed till Tuesday the 15th March)
We have an exciting visit from children’s author Nick Halliday coming to read to the children from his fabulous books. There will be opportunity to look at and buy signed copies of his books.

World Book Day – Wednesday 2nd March

We will be celebrating world book day on Wednesday 2nd March, the children may dress up as their favourite book character and bring in their favourite book to be read.
We have invited Osborne Books to nursery; they will be holding a book sale in the hall for parents to purchase books for themselves. We would also like help towards stocking our library area in our new nursery through donations of books purchased by parents.

Road Safety Week – Monday 28th February

We will be focusing on road and car park safety during the week  commencing 28th February. All the children will be participating in road safety activities to develop an awareness of keeping safe.

 

Camp will be held at Radlett during February half term.

Settling in Week

All the children who have started in different rooms or are new to nursery have settled really well and are enjoying the activities and making new friends.

 

 

 

Forest School takes place in woods behind nursery where children have the opportunity to explore and develop their independence and problem solving skills especially.

 

 


The Christmas Performances of The Gingerbread Man were great fun for the children and well attended by their families.
