Charity and Fundraising

  • We invite you to ‘buy a brick’ (£100) to support this worthy cause. Thank you for your generosity.

At First Place we enjoy fundraising and regularly take part in local initiatives as well as national fundraising campaigns.

This year we have decided our main charity to support is United World Schools (UWS) and we hope to make a huge and real difference to the lives of children, something we are very passionate about. UWS is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of some of the world’s poorest children through education and we are working in an exciting partnership with them to build 3 kindergartens in Cambodia.

Our aim is to raise £10,000 across all three First Place Nurseries, £6,500 of which when raised, means the builds can start for the 3 Kindergartens and when the full £10,000 is raised the 3 Kindergarten rooms will receive resources and teacher training.

We have introduced ‘buy a brick’ to support our fundraising. Each brick is worth and costs £100. Any person, family or company who donates £100 will in return have their name displayed on a brick to show their generosity and support for this worthy cause. Each nursery displays the amount raised throughout the year along with monthly fundraising events. Each nursery will be running a danceathon in June 2019 for their first fundraiser event.

If you wish to support us with this mission, please feel free to donate through our just giving page:

Thank you so much and please watch out for our updates.

  • December 2019

During the festive season, all three nurseries ran fundraisers, guess the name of the reindeer and a festive raffle for the chance to win a Christmas chocolate hamper. Thank you to all the families, visitors and staff who purchased raffle tickets and guessed reindeer names. In total we raised an amazing £500 for United World Schools. Congratulations to all the winners.

We also held a nursery raffle  and the big prize was ‘free nursery fees for the month of January 2020’. To enter families bought a raffle ticket by donating £100 to the United World Schools. These families were entered into our prize draw and had their family name displayed on our brick wall fundraising displays in all three nurseries. We are pleased to announce the winner of our ‘Free Fees Raffle’ was the ‘ MOLLETT FAMILY’ from our Bushey nursery. Congratulations to the Mollett family and a big thank you to all those who bought a ticket, you have made a real difference to a child’s education.
